Does anything ever last? Your problems won't, too. Focus on what can be done. You're home in this lockdown. Comfort yourself with the coping techniques like Self-soothing. It requires you to use your six senses and become aware of them, taking away the focus from feelings that cause stress. TOUCH: comfort yourself by caressing your pet, squeezing a stress ball, wrapping yourself in your favourite stole DISTRACTION: solve puzzles, paint, learn something new - a language, cooking, knitting. EMOTIONAL AWARENESS: Describe your feelings. Acknowledge your present reality. Write in a journal or draw it. It will put things in perspective. FLIP THE NEGATIVE: Have an exactly opposite reaction to what you are feeling. Use affirmations, clearing statements, read motivating pieces or watch kitten and puppy videos. MINDFULNESS: Ground yourself through mindfulness - deep breathing, muscle relaxation help reduce stress. SUPPORT: Seek out those who can be supportive - a friend or mentor We need to get through together. This, too shall pass. Be safe. Be strong.
